The feeling of community was very apparent and was such an uplifting experience for myself and others coming in. Some people talked while getting services, and some just relaxed and enjoyed their own thoughts. Immediately our clients loved the newfound way of experiencing beauty together.

At the very start of it, we were in a tiny one-room space with two beds. It wasn't around yet, and I didn't know how people would react to the new concept. What inspired you to design your locations in this way, and how do people react initially?īM: The idea of an open room facial bar was a little scary at first for me.
FACEBAR DEFINITION HOW TO
We now have three locations in the Boulder and Denver area and hope to keep spreading the love of self-care and education on how to heal your individual skin needs.ĪB: Your open-plan spaces create a unique experience. The idea then quickly turned into my first face bar location in 2013. I realized we can still have a beautiful and relaxing experience but in an airy, open room environment where we can bring the community together while experiencing self-care and self-love. This is how the face bar concept came to be. I couldn't blame them because as much as I preached it, I could not do it myself either. I found that a lot of them could not afford to make facials a monthly routine.

Facials were such a necessary part of keeping your skin clear, youthful, and glowing, and I would preach that every day to my clients. What motivated you to open up your own space?īM: I was grateful to have built a business where I could do makeup on hundreds of people, however, during these years, I saw a massive gap in the industry. I wanted to help others learn how to enhance their natural beauty, heal their skin, and learn how to do this with natural products that won't congest or irritate their skin.ĪB: You opened your first location of Alchemy Bar in Boulder in 2013. It has always felt like a support system and a beautiful place of community.Īfter struggling with my own skin issues in High School, I found a passion for what I wanted to dedicate my life to, helping others feel confident in their skin. I have always loved being around the women coming in and sharing life stories. It has been a part of my life since I can remember. My grandmother owned a nail salon, my mother owned a day spa, and my sister also currently owns a day spa. How did you get started in the beauty business?īre Morris: I have been so thankful to have been immersed in the beauty industry at a very young age. All clients are welcome, cherished, honored, and given that touch of magic that is the very definition of Alchemy Face Bar.Īnnie Bloj: Bre, you have created a signature experience within each of your Alchemy Face Bar locations for all things beauty, self-care, and transformation. At all locations of Alchemy Face Bar, there is an inherent feeling of connection that comes in the shared experience of self-care.
FACEBAR DEFINITION FULL
Full disclosure, I have been a faithful client of Alchemy Face Bar since their original location on Pearl Street in Boulder! Initially curious about the open-plan of this space- where women are being cared for and pampered communally- I instantly understood the concept that Bre Morris set out to create.
